The Yorkshire Air Museum is situated next to Elvington airfield a few miles from the centre of York.
It aims to be a living memorial to all the Allied Air Forces personnel who operated from Yorkshire during the Second World War.
There are many exhibits including original WWII buildings, uniforms, vehicles and aircraft including a reconstruction of a Halifax bomber.
These photographs have been taken at many visits to the museum.

Breighton - Radial Engine Fly-in and RAC "At Home" Day. A very wet day with grey skies and almost constant drizzle. The Mustang was due to depart to an airshow but due to the weather stayed at home and put on an excellent display with the Hurricane.

Thankfully the weather justified the use of Summer in the name of this months fly-in. Breighton however did seem to be in a bubble as storm clouds could be seen in the distance and this kept the activity mainly local. There was however plenty of flying the highlight of which has to be Taff flying inverted.

Sunday September 4th 2005 was a beautiful day at Breighton. The early morning mist disappeared and we were left with a terrific blue sky for the Vans fly in and RAC "at home day". Lots of visiting pilots and displays by the resident aircraft together with taxi runs by the Buchon meant there was plenty happening.

Sunday 7th May 2006 started with heavy rain and low cloud over most parts of the country - far from ideal airshow weather. There was however the promise of blue sky and sunshine later. The airshow at Old Warden was due to start at 2pm - the weather had by this time improved and the show was opened as planned with a display by the Sabre based at nearby Duxford. The sun gradually broke through and the conditions improved enough for the Edwardian aircraft to put on a display to close the show.
