Sunday 7th May 2006 started with heavy rain and low cloud over most parts of the country - far from ideal airshow weather. There was however the promise of blue sky and sunshine later. The airshow at Old Warden was due to start at 2pm - the weather had by this time improved and the show was opened as planned with a display by the Sabre based at nearby Duxford. The sun gradually broke through and the conditions improved enough for the Edwardian aircraft to put on a display to close the show.
Sunday 6th May 2007 was the date for Breighton's Vintage Piper Fly-in and At Home Day. Grey skies and a cool wind kept vistor numbers down but there was an interesting selection of Pipers together with some aerobatic types. The resident P-51D Mustang "Susy" flew and the Harvard sitting in the hanger without wings promised more thrills for future events. Late afternoon the sun put in an appearance for the end of what had been an enjoyable day - it takes more than poor weather to spoil the atmosphere at Breighton.
